Scholarship Recipients
Lauren, our second grantee from Arkansas, is a graduate of Southside High School in Batesville, AR and has two siblings who have a significant hearing loss as well. She likewise comes highly recommended by her teachers and others she has worked with. Lauren has been involved in multiple school activities, including Spanish Club and Future Business Leaders of America. She competed in the state district competition in Accounting, won her school's accounting award, and is an Arkansas Scholar. In fact, she did so well in school that she graduated a year early with honors. And all this was done despite her having to deal with her family's significant financial hardships.
Lauren is considering law as a career among other options. We are sure she will do well in whatever field she chooses and look forward to following her career. She will be attending Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.
