Rivka, our first grantee from Florida, was born in Israel and moved to the U.S. at the age of six. She had lost much of her hearing by the age of three, but has been determined to be just as successful as her peers.

She graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing, and is currently working part-time as a nurse while full-time in graduate school to further her education. In her free time, she interns at an orthopedic surgeon's office where she enjoys learning about the treatments of muskuloskeletal disorders. She also enjoys athletic activities like swimming, cycling, and weight lifting and is passionate about public health.
