Blessed, from Maryland, is attending Gallaudet University. He’s majoring in biology with plans to eventually apply to medical school. Blessed excelled in high school, with a 3.81 GPA. He continues to do well academically with a 4.0 GPA in college. In addition, he was a start on his high school basketball team, and was recruited to play for Gallaudet University where he’s in the honors program. In high school, he and a friend began a program to be a mentor and role model for younger students with significant hearing loss, and are continuing this program while they’re in college. Moreover, he’s been pursuing bioinformatics work at George Washington University researching atmospheric variables and at Seattle Children’s Research Institute (during the summer) where he’s researching cystic fibrosis.
