Zachary Muller
University of Kansas
Zachary Muller is our first grantee from Nevada. He will be starting his second year at the University of Kansas in the fall of 2024. He is majoring in Electrical Engineering. Zachary excelled in high school, where he was #4 in his class, and has a 3.6 grade average in college in the difficult area of engineering.
Zachary was active in numerous activities in high school. He was on the tennis team as well as the swim and dive team, and was elected captain of both his senior year. He was also quite involved in the robotics team as well as the student council. He was on the All-State Academic team, the National Honor Society, and received the Swimmer of the Week on two occasions.
He also received multiple honors. In particular, he received two certificates of special congressional commendation for his volunteer work with the veterans of Honor Flight Southern Nevada, and also received a Kline Scholarship for dependents of the military. What’s remarkable is that he has been so successful despite requiring multiple surgeries due to congenital malformations, which reduced the time he had to be involved in activities. Zachary currently plans to use his engineering knowledge to work with and improve hearing devices.
