Mara graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Environmental Science. While at Northeastern University, Mara studied abroad several times and was involved in leadership positions for multiple student organizations on campus, including the DivestNU fossil fuel divestment movement. She has worked a range of jobs including bicycle tour guide, science educator, and renewable energy developer. She is currently enrolled in the Environmental Humanities master’s program at the University of Utah.
