Jesse, from Washington, will be entering his second year at Gonzaga University. He was extensively involved in numerous activities in high school and college. Some of these include lettering in track and field and football, being captain of a state-ranked Quiz Bowl team, and being elected as Class President. Jesse likewise has extensive community and work experience. This ranges from picking berries one summer to working for the local parks department to working at the Gonzaga Manufacturing Technology Center where he helps create custom parts for student and staff projects and programs.
Jesse carries a 3.44 average in college while taking a difficult curriculum. He’s majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in leadership. He’s developed a strong interest in advocating for not only himself but all deaf and hard of hearing people in terms of ensuring adequate accommodations. His letters of recommendation all mentioned his leadership skills, as well as his proclivity to help others succeed in addition to himself.
